BEN'S CORNER
BEN'S CORNER
Hello, I'm Ben Rawls.
I am just a man who gets to encourage and walk alongside others on their journey as they grow in their relationship with Father God and discover His love. Discouragement WILL come. But if we have been empowered by God and encouraged by others, we are better able to dismiss the discouragement. Encouragement helps us take that next step. Sometimes we just need ONE other person to say, “You got this! You can do it!”
Andy Andrews introduced me to The Three Most Inspirational Words You’ve Never Considered. The first word gives us hope when we are discouraged with our progress. The word is “YET” and it’s filled with hope for the future. The second inspiring word, “PROUD”, erases doubt about whether or not we are “on the right track” or “making a difference.” How many are just waiting for us to notice them…to acknowledge their efforts…to be proud of who they are becoming?” By harnessing the third word, “IMAGINE”, one can take “nothing” and turn it into “something.” Every single thing ever invented—significant or not—was first actively imagined by a single person.
Of these three inspirational words, IMAGINE provides the greatest degree of hope and control. While YET is an adverb encouraging patience with one’s progress and PROUD is an adjective that acknowledges what one has already done or become.
Whatever you wish to accomplish, you must first imagine. And whatever you imagine, you can do. On the other hand, if you wish to inspire your kids and grandkids, take a few moments to imagine with them. Imagine tomorrow. Prompt them to imagine what their life will be like when they find “the answer.” Imagine with them the choices they will be able to make and the lives they will touch. In short, teach them to imagine. Teach them to think inspirational thoughts.
Living These Three Inspirational Words might look like…I can imagine the difference you are about to make in the lives of other people. I want you to know in advance how proud of you I already am. And as good as it gets, remember that the best—your very best—is yet to come!

Three Most Inspirational Words You Never Considered
Three Most Inspirational Words You Never Considered
Christian Community
Our spiritual life can progress and flourish only with the sincere support of others, especially when we face difficulties and crises in life. A community in communion with Christ, provides this support and solidarity to its members.
There is really nothing particularly profound about learning to let go of little resentments. But for fulfilling and lasting relationships, letting them go is a must. Refuse to carry around bitterness and you may be surprised at how much energy you have left for building bonds with those you love.
Little Resentments
Urgent vs Important
This story shows that a big part of setting and meeting your goals is avoiding being bogged down by a culture of constant urgency. The problem is that most of us don’t understand the difference between the urgent and the important. And once we do, we’ll recognize that the urgent is the enemy of the important.
Rules of Happiness
"Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories!" "I thank all those who were a part in filling my Memory bank--and, I am still depositing."
The power of remembering wasn't just about preserving the past, but about cherishing the present. She found that even in the face of fading memories, the love and connection one held for those they cherished could remain vibrant, a beacon guiding them through the years.
Remembering
Receptivity
Because we are one with Jesus, it’s not our activity that is key in our union. It’s our receptivity. That’s how Jesus lives His life through us, through our receptivity. That’s how we entered into a one-spirit union. We received Jesus. That is still our role, to receive.
Some of our best-loved hymns were written in times of great sadness. Our story today is a perfect example…the hymn “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”. Writers of such hymns found great comfort in the loving arms of Jesus during times of great sorrow and stress; they wanted to share with others how grateful they were that Jesus is THE source of comfort and caring and renewal when we are in our greatest need.
What A Friend We Have In Jesus
Heartprints
When love is viewed as a verb, its focus is on giving not receiving. Patience with others is Love; patience with self is Hope; and patience with God is Faith. To love someone deeply gives you strength. Being loved by someone deeply gives you courage
Sweet Fragrance
Our prayers are a sweet fragrance to God as we admit our own inadequacies and lean on God’s promises of provision and power. Worry is a conversation we have with ourselves about things we cannot change. Prayer is a conversation we have with God about things He can change!
One day a mother was shopping with her two daughters and had to face a big problem. In the candy aisle, the girls found only one bar of their favorite chocolate; they started arguing loudly about which one of them should have it. The arguing escalated to yelling; in a blink of an eye, they were crying and causing a scene.

One Word
“One Word” can be your driving force for the year. No goals. No wish lists. Just one word can change your life in 2025!! Instead of making New Year’s Resolutions that few of us ever accomplish, let’s do one thing that can transform our lives and focus us on

Our Desire for Love
Few subjects in life ignite as much passion and longing within us as our desire for love and our hope for genuine, enduring relationships. We all long to be loved. Every human being on this planet craves to be cherished by someone. We are wired for relationships by God's design.
Who is Christmas About?
We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about. We need to put Christ back in Christmas. JESUS is still the reason for the season.

Maybe
This note is a reminder for us to do to others as we would like them to do to us and to
not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Let’s tell God what we need, and thank Him for all he has done
Horatio Spafford was inspired to write the hymn It Is Well With My Soul as his heart ached after several traumatic events in his life. The depth of his sorrow is expressed in the hymn, but it also affirms his faith in God’s goodness, love, power and provision. The hymn has meant much to those who need reassurance during trouble they are experiencing. It is another way God makes Himself known in today’s world
It Is Well With My Soul
Stress
This story shows stress is a part of our lives. None of us can escape it. Stressors rob us of life, rest, joy and peace. Stress impacts our life through fear, anxiety and insecurity.
Love
We may give without loving; but we cannot love without giving. Love is giving all we can. Love is like a smile - neither have any value unless given away. Love cures people - both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it.
When our hopes and dreams are far from us, and we are running out of faith, we must recognize how strong the connection is between hope and faith We can’t have one without the other. Hope is the foundation of our faith just as much as faith is the foundation of our hope! Faith makes all things possible.
Maybe
God created man in His image. Then He created the ‘FAMILY’ in the image of heaven. It was the first and best institution founded by God. The letters in the word, FAMILY may be regarded as representing the first letters of the words in the statement, “Father And Mother In Love, Year-round” or the hearty remark of a loving little child, “Father And Mother, I Love You!”. Parents should stand between their child and God- not as a separating wall but as a connecting link.
FAMILY: A Father's Day Message
Truth Trusted Transforms
This story helps us understand “Can anything ever separate us from God’s, our Father’s, love?” Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?
Parachute Packers
This story is a reminder that we all have "parachute packers" in our lives - those who silently contribute to our successes. They are our colleagues who work late to meet a deadline, family members who offer unwavering support, mentors who guide us, and friends who cheer us on.
Live a Good Life
“People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life, like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?” The six-year-old continued, “Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.” Remember, if a dog was the teacher, you would learn things like:
Today
Today stretches ahead of us, waiting to be shaped. And we are, the sculptor, to do the shaping. What today will be like is up to us. We choose what kind of day we will have! This is a time of investment. Investing is about making decisions in the present that will have a major impact on our future.
Thank You to Our Mothers
MOTHERS HOLD THEIR CHILDREN’S HAND FOR A SHORT WHILE, BUT THEIR HEARTS FOREVER. Papa God, we approach your throne on behalf of the mothers whom you have entrusted with the care of your most precious little ones. We thank you for creating each mom with a unique combination of gifts and talents
Like a Child
, "Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Every person needs love because God is love. Every person needs acceptance because that is what unconditional love from God truly is. Love is all about FREEDOM. FEAR is all about CONTROL
Faith That Moves A Mountain
Our entire life is lived by grace, by receiving, from faith to faith—one episode of faith to the next. God, not us, is the source to meet our needs. Our part is to totally depend on God. If God brings us to it, he will bring us through it! Faith is the bridge over which we can cross all the unknown waters of tomorrow.
The Lord's Homerun
Baseball season is starting and it’s an intrinsic part of our culture. This story of “The Lord’s Home Run” shows how a game of baseball can be used to relate a lesson about the important role of Grace in our relationship with our Lord.
The Gift of Aging
Some of us also fear growing older for physical reasons. Aging is often seen as a loss of control. As the years pass, our fear of the unknown may grow stronger.
But the truth is, we’ve never been in control anyway! From the moment we were created— whether we’ve realized it or not—we’ve relied on our Creator for every breath. Growing older helps us to shed that illusion of control more and more, and to rest in the promises of our loving God.
Living in a post-crucifixion world means we’ve received God’s forgiveness and we’re at peace with Him in every way. But we need to be living in a post-resurrection world, too, as the resurrection gave us victory over sin and an unbreakable spiritual union with Jesus! It’s time we now focus on what it means to have new life — His resurrection life in us, here and now.
His Resurrection Life in Us
Imagine being told as a child you may never be able to walk again and that you may have to spend the rest of your life as an amputee. Imagine going from there to winning a medal at the Olympic Games! This is the true story about athlete Glenn Cunningham.

God-Incident
This is a very good example of a “God-incident" (some people might call it a "co-incidence"). If you take the time to read it, you will be glad you did. It is about a song that even silenced a cappuccino machine.
We don't know how a random act of kindness will impact someone. This story reminds us that all people are divine creation made in the image of God and that kindness costs nothing, but can mean the world to someone. We cannot live a perfect day until we serve someone who cannot repay us
Kindness Impact
The Gift
The best gifts in the world aren’t the material objects, but in the memories we make with the people we love. Creative gift giving is an art. Strive for a gift that shows you have taken the trouble to pay attention to the recipient and have a genuine interest in them
Attitude
The longer I live the more convinced I become that life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we respond to it. As this story shows, the single most significant decision we can make each day is our choice of attitude
This story, “The Pickle Jar”, author unknown, makes me cry each time I read it. It speaks of a parent’s unconditional love. More than anything, it warms my heart, because my parents did exactly the same for me.

Christmas is Love
Christmas is Love
Christmas is a yearly reminder of how much God loves each of us. The Bible says God is love. It doesn’t say God has love; it says God is love. There is nothing you can do that will make God stop loving you. You simply can’t do it – because His love for you is based upon His character and not on anything you do or say or feel.
Proverbs 22:6
Proverbs 22:6
I fondly remember the good times when I visited my grandparents, especially my grandmother who Istayed with quite a lot. Now, being a grandparent for 30 years has brought clarity to what’s important. While we want our grandkids to remember the good times during their visits, we also want to leave
them with a Godly legacy. Here are ten things I have tried to share with my grandchildren

A lot of people have a warped definition of humility. They think it means, "Shucks, I'm no good at that." Humility is not seeing everybody else as better than you. It does not mean you are a doormat. Humility is a fair and accurate assessment of who God created you to be. For example, false humility is the worst form of pride. For Tiger Woods to say I am a terrible golfer is not humility. It's a lie and an affront to God who gave Him that ability. Here’s an inspiring story about humility.
Humility
Life is the coffee; our jobs, money and position in society are the cups. Cups are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us." God brews the coffee, not the cups. Enjoy your coffee
Life is The Coffee
Let’s connect to thankfulness in a super deep and meaningful way this year. Let’s take time to truly feel and express it. Thankfulness begets thankfulness, and we could all use a little bit more of it every day of the year. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thank you for allowing me to share this Thanksgiving message with you. We don't need more to be thankful for, we just need to be more thankful! I'm thankful for YOU!!
Happy Thanksgiving, Ben
Happy Thanksgiving!
Marriages
Loving our spouse the way Jesus loves us requires compassion and understanding, not judgment and criticism. That is why keeping Jesus on the throne of our heart is the only way to keep wedlock out of deadlock. A good marriage is not easy and does not happen without a lot of work, mistakes, patience, forgiveness, prayer, and laughter.
Saying goodbye is an important signal to your loved ones and recognizes an ending point in your journey together. It also signifies we can say goodbye and still be all right. We’re now at the fork in the road, and it’s OK to travel separately because we’ve each had the pleasure of traveling together for a time that mattered
Goodbye
The Minister of Hope
When we live our life fully aware that God lives in us, for us, thru us and as us and will protect us wherever we go, it changes the whole equation in front of us. He is taking care of us even when life hurts! God’s timing is perfect! Relax! Let’s affirm His nearness in our heart and not be anxious about anything!!
Do Not Judge
Life is a garden that grows the seeds we plant. We must be careful about the kind of seed we plant. Jesus gives us one of the most important critical factors for emotional health and happiness. Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. (Matthew 7:1‑2)
But transformation means when Christ becomes our life, everyone will know it. We are changed… transformed if you will. But information alone can’t do that. Neither will information and revelation apart from application. One must ACT and live out what we believe. All three together result in transformation. Information plus revelation plus application will lead to transformation
The 99 Club
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
Transformation
Seeing Souls
If our eyes saw souls instead of bodies, how different our ideas of beauty would be! The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.
Thank You!
Thank you is a sign of respect to the person who has helped you or given you something. It is an indication you do not take them for granted, along with an acknowledgement that they matter. That is why saying “Thank you!” matters.
Sharing Hope
In our life’s journey, troubles, suffering and failures may fall on us. Let’s not worry about them or feel helpless or hopeless. We shouldn’t let the troubles defeat us or bury us. Let’s use every set back as a stepping-stone and not as a stumbling-block. As Joni Eareckson said, “Sometimes God allows what he hates to accomplish what he loves.”
“When someone hurts you, write it in sand, so the winds of forgiveness can erase it. But when something is done for you, out of love and caring, engrave it in stone—so the winds of forgetfulness cannot erase it.”
Winds Of Forgiveness
Small…what we consider to be small and insignificant may actually be huge in God's scheme of things. Have you ever noticed how often God's view and the world's view are opposite?
Small
His Free Gift
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Ephesians 2:8-9
Through Christ
Take these encouraging promises from God’s Word and write them in a card to a friend, pray them daily, share them with others, and hide them in your heart. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Phil.4:13
Hope
There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, no tonic so powerful as
expectation of something better tomorrow! It’s one thing to speak of hope when things
look doubtful but it’s another to speak of hope when circumstances have crushed you tothe floor.
expectation of something better tomorrow! It’s one thing to speak of hope when things

Transitions of Life
When we’re young, we can’t wait to grow up, but when we’re old enough we wish to be young again especially when we recall our childhood. We don’t realize that life has four seasons that we need to surpass and understand. So, now I want to share this inspirational short story to explain the various transitions of life that we go through.
God Designed You
God is leading us along a way that is uniquely right for us. The closer to God we grow, the more fully we become our true self, the one God designed us to be. What God can accomplish in and through us is proportional to how much we depend on Him. So, let’s practice trusting the Lord to do all our tasks through us.
Salt of the Earth
We use the phrase, “Salt of the Earth”, to describe good, honest, humble people. We’re to serve the world. We’re intended to spread throughout the world and enhance it, adding flavor to things that would be bland, drawing out the blessings of whatever is good, and providing a contrast of being distinct and different
The storms of our life prove the strength of our anchor. In Philippians 4:11 Paul focuses on the concept of contentment, regardless of his circumstances. “Not that I complain of want for I have learned in whatever state I am to be content.” Contentment is not automatic, nor is it a natural attitude. Rather, it is a learned skill.
Storms of Life
Don't Make Assumptions
Don’t make assumptions about people. This is advice we often hear. Making assumptions and then taking them personally is the beginning of all of our conflicts. In his book The Four Agreements, Don Miguel Ruiz provides four lessons for life, one is to never make assumptions about anything. They’re damaging for us and those around us.
Plant Honesty
Honesty, speaking and acting truthfully, is more than not lying, deceiving, stealing, or cheating. It entails showing respect towards others and having integrity and self-awareness. Honesty is the foundation for trust and key in social relationships; it gives us hope, confidence, compassion and improves decision-making.
Listen
The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. As the following story shows, perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention. And especially if it’s given from the heart. When people are talking, there’s no need to do anything but receive them.
Children are Watching
Sometimes it’s very easy to underestimate the impact we have. We often strive to do it all, do it perfectly, and look good doing it – which is impossible, by the way – but the truth is that the little things matter. “When you thought I wasn’t looking” is a message each of us should read because children are watching us and doing as we do, not as we say.
Be You
Each and every one of us is born with unique traits and characteristics that help us shine and find our true calling. Learning to love ourselves for who/what we are is a big challenge. There are so many people who believe they aren’t enough. They hate that they’re different from the everyday crowd, and try so hard to be someone they’re not.
Cracked Pots
V
We need to accept our personal challenges as part of our beautiful individuality and direct our attention to our own personal strengths. Focusing on our positive aspects allows us to amplify these qualities and share our goodness with those around us.
This is Grace
Grace is conveyed through the encouragement and direction God gives to the believers. Grace, in its short definition is unmerited favor. You can’t earn it, it is a gift and is always freely given. It means that you will not be getting what you so richly deserve. The following story illustrates “Grace”.
Let's "Be the One"
Let’s choose to be who God made us to be and that’s unique in every sphere of life. We are designed to live in the sunshine of our Father’s love. Let’s live a life of love.
Can Prayer Save America?
Sure, if saving America is what God wants to do. Then prayer will be absolutely essential. Prayers of confession and repentance can bring us to that safe place of humility before God. Intercessory prayers to release salvation, revival, justice, compassion, and mercy will become commonplace and powerful.
Barbers Don't Exist
Bill replied, “Barbers don’t exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards…like that man outside walking down the sidewalk.” The barber said, “But barbers DO exist! That’s just what happens when people do not come to me.” “Exactly!” Bill affirmed. “That’s the point! God, also, DOES exist! It’s like what happens when people do not come to Him, too!
Agenda for Today
What are You Going to Do Today? What are your plans? What's on your agenda for today? Do you have any plans, or do you just expect to react to everyone and everything around you? How about purposefully having an agenda, things that are important to your destiny? Here are some ideas for an Agenda for Today
Moving Forward with God
Don’t minimize the opportunities God has for you in the future. Don’t put all your efforts into avoiding loss or turn your face away from the future He has planned for you. Instead, go forward with confidence and courage. By ourselves we can't He never said we could. He can and Always said He would
Live in the Now
“Living in the now” or present can help us to be more aware of God in the middle of our distracting thoughts. Life unfolds in the present (the now) but we let the present slip away by squandering the precious seconds of our lives as we worry about the future and think about what happened in the past. The present moment has never happened before and will never happen again. Now is the only moment we can fully experience.
The following story shows us that if we propose to move forward in life, especially if we aspire to leadership, we’ll have to learn what it means to take risks — to live by faith.
Moving Forward
Nation Under God
There is no question, our God and faith are experiencing a very strategically planned war to eliminate God from all aspects of our lives. We must be a part of a counter-offense to not let non-believers win this war on God. I am requesting prayer for our nation to get back to God.
Parable of the Pencil
This “Parable of the Pencil” has a history as a children’s sermon and its wisdom is priceless, and it applies to people of all ages! When it is told, each child is encouraged to think about the story’s message every time they pick up a pencil.
The story attached by Brian Mann shows there’s a cruelty about the week between Christmas and New Year’s and it focuses on performance (Do to Be!) rather than grace (Be to Do!). We can also see how our concept of our identity plays into this and how it impacts our Relationship with God?
Grace and Indentity
God's Grace
We’re not in control. Let’s accept circumstances, understanding that God can bring order out of chaos. Let’s understand God’s grace is sufficient for us and we cultivate a voice of praise instead of complaining about the circumstances. Let’s have a desire to do the will of God saying, “God, I put this in your hands; you deal with it.” And let’s be willing to wait on the Lord, knowing that His timetable is different from ours.
Happy 2023!
Start off the New Year encouraged that no matter what heartache, or hardship you’ve endured, God always offers the opportunity to begin again and He doesn't cancel our destiny because we've taken a few detours. He still has a plan for our lives.
Christmas Love
In that instant, we understood the reason we were there, why we celebrated the holiday in the first place, why even in the chaos, there was a purpose for our festivities.
Bake Your Cake, Already
She could have made the “perfect” cake three weeks ago, or any cake, for that matter. But she got caught up in searching for some illusive ideal. It had become more about the search than the cake itself.
Our Father, Our Pilot
There are many kinds of storms that buffet us: physical, mental, financial, domestic, and...many other storms that can easily and quickly darken our skies and throw “our plane” into apparent uncontrollable
movement. So, let’s remember...God, Our Father, is our Pilot. He is in control and will take us home.
movement. So, let’s remember...God, Our Father, is our Pilot. He is in control and will take us home.
Happy Thanksgiving
So, what matters most to you? Your faith, family and friends? Your relationships? Your health? And how are you making sure that these items stay at the top of your to-do list? In the spirit of being thankful this Thanksgiving, I encourage you to take the time to connect with what matters most. Why? Because knowing what matters most matters.
Connect With Others
Connect with others. It matters. The important things in life are not things at
all – they are the relationships we have. Make sure you love people when they don't deserve it because that's when they really need it.
all – they are the relationships we have. Make sure you love people when they don't deserve it because that's when they really need it.
Faith, Family & Friends
Everyone is born into a family, but not everyone gets a healthy one. Families set the stage for future relationships. The very first relationships a child has is with their parents and siblings
The Resurrection Life
Jesus died our death and now we are living His life!! Thank You Lord Jesus for coming to us to give us your life! You said it, “I came to give YOU LIFE!”And I am so thankful that you said the word ‘give’, because there is no way we could EVER EARN your Divine Life!
Life Boat Believers
Very few believers believe that the Lifeboat, the Lord Jesus Himself, died to make room for them aboard His vessel. Jesus did not die for us to merely survive being tossed about by every wind and wave. Jesus means for us to receive and thrive in His Lifeboat.
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense
To Give You Hope
We are hope-shaped creatures. How we live today is shaped by what we believe about our future. The first rule for surviving any hard situation is to remember God is in control, maintain a positive attitude, and not let pessimism kill our will.
Commitment
Life is a journey filled with lessons, hardships, heartaches, joys and celebrations that will ultimately lead us to our destination, our purpose in life. The road will not always be smooth. We will be confronted with many situations, some filled with joy, and some filled with heartache. How we react determines the outcome for the rest of our journey through life.
We don’t know how much a random act of kindness may impact someone. Everyone’s fighting a battle we know nothing about. Not all wounds are visible so walk gently in the lives of others. Nobody ever died from an overdose of encouragement.
Let Go of the Outcome
In most cases, we can't control all of the variables or the outcome of events in our life. Not attached to the outcome simply means that we do our best, moving from a place of clear intention, without attachment to the outcome.
Love In Action
Mentors
I firmly believe that our parents, pastors, teachers, mentors, and other stand-out people who make a difference in our lives play a huge part in helping us to get from where we began to where we want to go.
Gratitude
It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see. There is awesome power in how you see the world.
What God Says
About You
Let’s start believing what God says about us and abandon any image of ourselves that is not from God, that he is pleased with how he created us, and that God defines us.
Take a Step of Faith
I know a lot less about this “new” God Who broke out of my box, but He’s growing on me. I’m starting to enjoy life more. Maybe you ought to give Him a chance as well. Here’s a great story from Watchman Nee’s booklet,
“The Way to Self- Knowledge” I’d like to share with you.
“The Way to Self- Knowledge” I’d like to share with you.
Life is a series of choices. We are seldom intentional about these choices, bouncing emotionally back and forth based on what will cause the least amount of present pain. Get on a truth quest. The truth is we are here for a reason. Our vision and purpose are greater than our circumstances
Get on a Truth Quest
Make Sure You Mind What Matters
Nature is not God but God is revealed by nature. As I do my outdoor daily walks I look to see how many characteristics or attributes of God I can find by observing the natural world around me. Then I look for an application of each characteristic of God in my life.
How Will You Respond?
We have all heard the famous saying, "life is 10% of what happens and 90% of how you react to it."In life, attitude is everything; it is what shapes our beliefs and our desires. Harsh times will occur throughout our lives, but it is up to us how we interpret them. We are always in control of our
emotions despite any given situation.
emotions despite any given situation.
Grace flows downhill, that is the thought I want to consume you today and every day. The Grace of God is the motivation of God in salvation. Salvation is given by grace to those who have done absolutely nothing to deserve it or earn it. Grace flows downhill. Please get that truth clearly in your mind. Grace is at the bottom and not the top.
Grace Flows Downhill
Faultless Encouragers
Let’s stop being fault finders and become faultless encouragers. What great things God can accomplish through us if we will but seek to strengthen and encourage one another.
Thank you, Moms, for your love, devotion, and sacrifice. You are simply the best.
Happy Mother’s Day, Moms!! Ben
Motherhood
Notes to Encourage You
To get and stay encouraged is our number one need. Tough circumstances are no match for the kind of inner strength fueled by hope.
Being Humble
Being humble means you do things out of the kindness of your heart, without expecting anything in return; even gratitude. That can be a bitter pill to swallow for some.
Treasured Clay Vessel
As this story shows, most of the time we look at someone or even ourselves and we only see the external clay vessel. The vessel doesn’t always look sparkly and nice, so we never bother to look
inside it. We tend to see and judge a person and deem them as less important than the ones who are more beautiful, stylish, well known or wealthy. We forget to look inside for the unique treasure that each one of us hold.

We cannot control all the things life throws at us, but we can choose how we respond to them (a.k.a. attitude). All we can do is accept there’s not much we can do. And all we can control is how well we let go of control. God’s wants us to live in total dependency upon Him for everything in our life and to live in intimate relationship with Him.
It's All About Relationships
At the end of our lives we will realize that only three things really mattered…Our Faith, Our Family and Our Friends. Each of these is all about relationship! God created us for relationship. Connected to God. Connected to family. Connected to people (We love God by loving people!).
Patience, the Greater
Courage
This is one of my favorite stories and I first heard it from Kenny Ashley years ago. For those of us who pass judgment on life with only one day’s evidence, the message is profound. I hope it will remind you, as it did me, that patience is the greater courage.
No Longer Me, but WE
We are inseparable fused with God. The good news about living in union with God as our Source means it is no longer “ME” who is living life. It is now WE who are living life in union with each other.
In God We Trust
As the following story shows, God is leading us along a way that is uniquely right for us. Things might not make sense to us, but God knows exactly what he’s doing. Trusting God starts with not leaning on our own understanding, and being able to trust God with all our heart.

Stories Change Our Lives
Some of our most memorable life lessons come from stories. Stories are fundamental to the way we process life experiences and the feelings around them. Our brain perceives patterns and the plot sequences of stories to store them in long-term memory. Good stories can change lives

I want to share some stories with you that encouraged me. Sometimes we need to be reminded that God knows everything that’s going on. He knows our needs and our burdens. He knows exactly how He’s going to solve our problems and He’s working on the solutions even before we know to pray about them. Sometimes we need to be reminded of our All Knowing, All Powerful God.

Encouragement:
Encouragement:
God has created us for relationships
God has created us for relationships
Some of the greatest success stories of history have followed an act of confidence or a word of encouragement by a loved one or a trusted friend. The stories below shows that we were built for intimacy—a close, deeply satisfying relationship that empowers, edifies, and encourages us to the core. Nothing stimulates us like a loving connection as that assures us we are not alone. We are accepted and acceptable to someone.
Honoring Someone
As this story shows, an encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day. So be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path. It’s sometimes hard to understand how powerful an encouraging word can be.
Pay It Forward
Why do so many people live their lives according to the “pay it forward” principle? It has been proven that acts of kindness build exponentially in a community and because people believe that one good deed deserves another. We make a living by what we get; but it’s in giving that we receive because we make a life by what we give!! “Paying it forward” can make the world a better place.
Building Connections
At the end of life, what really matters is not what we bought but what we built, not what wegot but what we shared, not our competence but our character and not our success but our significance. Live a life that matters. Live a life of love. Life does not have to be perfectto be wonderful. Love is not w hat we choose to DO. Love is what we choose to BE!!
A Safe Person
I needed a ‘safe person’ because God designed us for deep relationships. A safe person is someone who influences us to be the person we were designed to be. They encourage us.
Words of Encouragment
We all need encouragement! Today, decide to be that person who instills a positive belief in someone who needs to hear your encouraging words. Uplift someone who is feeling down. Fuel others with your positive energy
God's GIfts
Some of us are reluctant to use our gifts. We may feel inadequate or unqualified or may hoard our gifts or use them for ourselves and our own pleasure. But we need to realize that we have been blessed so that we might be a blessing. We must not hold back, but should faithfully use the gifts God has given us.
Total Commitment
Commitment is healthiest when it is not without doubt, but in spite of doubt. Keep working, keep believing and keep going. When you feel lost, pray for guidance. When you feel like you can’t do it, know that you can do all things through God who gives you strength.
So let’s make every day count!!!
Let’s appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that we possibly can for we may never be able to experience it again. Let’s talk to people that we have never talked to before, and really listen. Let’s fall in love, break free, and set our sights high.
Unity
So much happens in our lives. I think it is important to stop and realize how much God is working behind the scenes. He often helps when we didn't even think to pray....

As a man THINKS in his heart, so is he…What we THINK is a big deal. All that we achieve and all that we fail to achieve is the direct result of our own thoughts. Every negative and positive feeling is a direct result of thought. Angry…depressed…jealous…happy…sad…glad…etc. is a result of our thoughts. We are the producers of our thoughts! Thought is not something that happens to us, but something we do. What we THINK determines what we see…not the other way around. Seeing is NOT believing…Believing (thought) is seeing.

This life that we have been given is the precious gift from God that is meant to be lived and enjoyed to its fullest. Let’s use it or we will lose it!!

That lack of control over our circumstances can make us angry. One option is to choose to drop anger. Doing so reflects an individual’s awareness that all of their life and circumstances cannot be controlled. This option includes a tolerance of differences and a willingness to forgive

Our Loving Father
“I am nowutterly convinced that on Judgment Day the Lord is going to ask each of us one question and only one question, “Did you believe that I loved you? That I desired you? That I waited for you day after day? That I longed to hear the sound of your voice?”
What if your life journey isn’t so much about you becoming anything. Maybe it's all about unbecoming everything that isn't really you, so you can be who you were meant to be. Every word I write is saturated with a desire to inspire YOU to know who you TRULY are and to discover what's truly important in your life.
The True You
Juggling
We all spend our life juggling…family, work, friendships, health, and spirit. All demand our attention. It seems the only way to satisfy all the demands is to frantically juggle them, hoping nothing important gets dropped. But how do we determine what’s important?
Spiritual Markers
Our most usefulasset isn’t a head full of knowledge, but a heart full of love, an ear ready to listen and ahand willing to help! Without love, caring and compassion; we're nothing.
Life Lessons
You need to know WHO you are in Christ so that when you make choices you know WHAT to do, WHEN to do it, WHERE to go, and HOW to do it. Your faith will grow stronger as you focus on your identity in Christ.
Focus
Focus on what you can control! You have no power to control things that are beyond your control, so why worry about it? If it is something over which you do have control, then do what needs to be done to fix it. Don’t worry. Trust the Lord.
Choices
Life is a matter of choices, and every choice we make makes us. We are the sum total of the choices we make. We’re where we are because of the choices we’ve made. We always have a choice.
A Life That Matters
No matter how things look or feel right this minute, make the decision that you are simply not going to give up on creating a different life for yourself. Learn. Grow. Talk and listen to God.

I love this story. It illustrates some things I’ve learned about why bad things happen togood people. Those times can be used to build our faith. God has shown me over and over again that He is truly able to make all things work together for good (Romans 8:28).

Living in The Present
Each day has enough trouble of its own and that alone can help you live in the present! Happy people understand that life is really nothing more than a series of present moments to experience, one after the other. They understand and appreciate the past for what it taught them about living in the NOW. They see the future as more present moments to experience. Mostly, they understand that right NOW, this very moment, is where life is truly lived.
Words
Make no mistake, your words aren’t meaningless or powerless in your life. They have
creative power, just as God demonstrated when He created the heavens and the earth
with His words. Now, you have the authority to do the same thing here on earth.
creative power, just as God demonstrated when He created the heavens and the earth
with His words. Now, you have the authority to do the same thing here on earth.
Each Day is a New Beginning
It's easy to say "thank you" for the good things that come into our life. Yet, the hardest work I've ever done is to be thankful for EVERYTHING! There is always something to be grateful about. Develop an attitude of gratitude because everything in our life was put there to prepare us to let God love us.
My Daily Prayer
“This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it because I no longer live but the Lord Jesus lives in me, for me, through me and as me and I live in Him,
Therefore, without Him I can do nothing but with him all things are possible because the Lord is my strength. The Lord is my power day by day and every hour.”
Therefore, without Him I can do nothing but with him all things are possible because the Lord is my strength. The Lord is my power day by day and every hour.”

Staying Encouraged
Everyone comes into our life for a reason. They shape, form and break us. But in the end make us who we are. Every person we meet has a story to tell, a lesson to teach and a dream to share.
God Bless America History of the Song
Frank Sinatra considered Kate Smith the best singer of her time, and he said that, when he and a million other guys first heard her sing "God Bless America" on the radio, they all pretended to have dust in their eyes as they wiped away a tear or two
Freedom is not Free
Here’s a true story of the lesson Martha Cothren, a History teacher at Robinson High School in Little Rock, gave her class on the cost of things taken for granted and the debt owed to those in the armed forces.
We need to be aware of the seeds we sow into the lives of others. Others are affected by what we are doing. I hope these two stories will move your heart to be kind and loving to those around you and also remind you to treat others the way you want to be treated. When we grasp this simple concept that ‘Love’ conquers all, we will truly be changing this world into a better place.

Kindness:Live Life God's Way
We don’t know how much a random act of kindness may impact someone. Everyone’s fighting a battle we know nothing about.
Comparison Leads to Discontent
If we aren’tcontent with what we have, we would not be satisfied if it were doubled. It's a funny thing about life, once we begin to take note of the things we are grateful for, we begin to lose sight of the things that we lack.

Free at Last!
Give up the illusion of being in control of your life! When things are going smoothly, it’s easy to feel as if you’re in charge. This story illustrates that the more you perceive yourself as your own master, and the more comfortable you become in this role, the harder you will fall!
Fear
Fear is a story we tell ourselves about something that might happen in the future so it’s almost always based on the future. Sometimes we know what’s in the future and we’re fearful. But most times, we are afraid of what we don’t know.
Good Men
Proverbs 10:7 says: “The memory of the righteous is blessed.” Spend some time reflecting on the legacy they’ve left – how did they show God’s love?

Who is in Control?
Control (a.k.a. authority) is the controversy of the universe. All worry, fear, and anxiety revolve around the issue of control. Who is going to be in control?
Encouragement
Encouragement
We all need encouragement right about now! We find ourselves in a sober moment and are not sure what to do next. Fear is rising in these uncertain times. Remember, it is not God's will that we face every day with dread and trepidation. He made us for more than a life of breath-stealing angst and mind-splitting worry.
Encouragement to stay God-Focused
All of us go through good and bad things in life. We should always remember how we felt when we were in same condition and should not mock others for being in it. Always try to understand their situation as if you are in it and help as much possible praying to God that today you are in a condition to help someone who needs it. May God help us see the opportunities that are always around us to do good
Be An Encourager
One of the best indicators of spiritual growth is that we remain calm in the face of crisis, adversity and danger. Panic is more contagious than calm.
To remain calm and use the current crisis for game-changing opportunities is a paradigm shift compared to what the world is doing right now.

The Value of Love
Only with time do we realize the true value of love. Why wait to cherish Love every day of your life? The one who is rich with something, shares it with others.

The Soul Train
“The Lord called on me & revealed to me to be a Farmer for Him…to plant seeds that Papa could nurture to grow. I was to Plant only & let Him do the rest. So over time we created a Soul Train and I got my Train moving forward on the Tracks God has laid for me!
I have chosen a word that represents my theme for the year. This year it is “Joy”. And I have committed to trust God to make it happen instead of trying to interfere and "help Him out". God didn’t create us to live for Him. God created us so He could live His life through us!

Courageous Empathy
The four attributes of empathy reminds us that we can only create a genuine empathic connection if we are courageous enough to truly get in touch.
Life Lessons I Learned
Life is a continuous learning experience. Throughout our lives we keep rising and falling, picking up important lessons along the way. Here are some important life lessons I have learned the hard way…
Words of Encouragement
There is power of life and death in the tongue. Look for opportunities to encourage others! Life is short! Don’t kill others with your words!!
Be A Good Neighbor
It’s really easy to fall into the trap of believing that what we do is more important than what we are. Of course, it’s the opposite that’s true: What we are ultimately determines what we do!
Change the World with Love
It is very important that we pay attention to the seeds that we sow into the lives of others. We may not notice, but that does not mean someone else isn't being affected by what we are doing
Your Life Has Worth
Our self-esteem is based on our Christ-esteem.
How can we remember that our value is based on the fact that Jesus is our life and the high price He paid for us, not on the world’s opinion of our worth? Gratitude
What a difference having an attitude of gratitude makes in living a life filled with love! Quit telling God what you don't have and start using what you do have.

We can be victims of circumstance or we can be masters of our fate, but make no mistake, we cannot be both!! We are all on a journey! We don’t know what lies ahead of us but we are about to find out. The real JOurneY is the one that takes place within us!!!
The Journey Within Us
Here’s a game you can play to help you figure out what is holding you back from completing an unfinished project and getting it done. It’s called “OVERCOMER”!

Gaining Perspective
Have you ever found yourself working so hard toward a goal that you stop feeling connected to the purpose of it in the first place? Whether it's a personal objective or a career milestone that you're trying to reach, it's easy to lose sight of the reason why you actually wanted to achieve this feat
Dancing with Fear
How do we get rid of the fear? We don’t. That’s the wrong question! The only way to get rid of the fear is to stop doing things that matter. Sometimes that looks like busyness, laziness, or procrastination. We need to “dance” with the fear.
Revelation Knowledge
It is revelation knowledge, not will power, that brings freedom. In case you’re not sure what revelation knowledge is, it's simply an “aha moment.”The word “revelation” refers to something that has been veiled or hidden for a long time and then suddenly, almost instantaneously, becomes clear and visible to the mind or eye..

Loneliness
Loneliness
Every day we make choices. Things happen, we make decisions, and that shapes our life. It’s that simple, but do we put enough thought into how we react to things that happen to us? We must pause and choose wisely!!

What is goodness? Goodness is the unselfish desire to be open-hearted and generous to others. It can also be described as moral excellence and virtuous. It often reflects a great strength of purity of character.
Fruit of the Spirit -Pt. 9 Faithfulness
Faithfulness hinges upon what we value as important combined with our commitment. We have a powerful tendency to be faithful to what they think is truly important, be it a family name, spouse, friendship, employer, school, athletic team or even certain things like a make of automobile.
Fruit of the Spirit -Pt.10 Gentleness
Gentleness as a fruit is distinctive from kindness and goodness in that the emphasis is on humility and thankfulness towards God, as well as polite, restrained and compassionate behavior towards everyone else.
Fruit of the Spirit -Pt.11 Self Control
Perhaps self-control is listed last as the capstone since it takes a lot of self-control to exercise the other eight virtues! It takes a lot of self-control just to “bridle” one’s tongue. Maybe Paul was thinking of ‘love’ and ‘self-control’ as the two great bookends for the set of nine.
Fruit of the Spirit Prayer
The fruit of the Spirit of God is in me because, I am a Christian, I have been bought with a price. It is only because of what Jesus did that I can ever hope to be good, or gentle, or kind, or patient, or loving, or anything. I cannot truly live these things without the Spirit of God in me.

We Have Choices
We can't choose how or when we die but we can choose how we live. Difficult situations often expose strengths we didn’t know we had. If we don't intentionally choose how to live our life, we are actually choosing to let our life be driven by circumstances. Everything in our life is a reflection of a choice we have made.
Separate Realities
Understanding that every person we meet is always and only acting from their own level of consciousness in the moment, based on whatever thoughts they’re having at the time is critical. Others not only shouldn’t see things our way, but in fact they cannot
Remember Your True Identity
God not only shaped you uniquely, He planned every day of your life to support His SHAPING process. This means that nothing in your life is INSIGNIFICANT. Our lives are a sum total of the choices we have made. Therefore…

Trust
Life was simple in the small paper mill town where I grew up in the 40’s and 50s. Trusting others was second nature and relationships were easy.
God never told us to trust people. We are to love people and trust God. Know the difference as your joy depends upon it!
Between Hello and Goodbye
.The two hardest things to say in life are hello for the first time and goodbye for the last. No one knows the exact moment when a friendship is formed, but it is this silent forgotten moment that causes the pain when we must say goodbye. All we have is what’s in between hello and goodbye.
Please Change
How can anyone feel appreciated when their loved one is wishing or hoping for them to change. The greatest roadblock to a great relationship is trying to force a partner to change through bribes or threats.

Stress vs. Rest
Stress is an inevitable part of our lives. None of us can escape it. Stressors rob us of life, rest, joy and peace. Stress negatively impacts our life through fear, anxiety, insecurity, etc.

Jigsaw
When putting together a jigsaw puzzle, we know that each piece connects to another in a meaningful way and no piece is worthless. When we are going through a tough time, we must remember that this is just one tiny piece of our puzzle, without it we would not be complete. We need all the pieces — good and bad, easy and difficult .

Lift Your Spirits
